The Speed of Production: 2020 vs. Now

The main difference between 2020 and today lies in the speed of production, thanks to the integration of AI tools. Advancements like natural language processing, generative AI, and image synthesis have drastically reduced the time required to create high-quality digital content. Tools like ChatGPT streamline text generation, while platforms like MidJourney enable rapid artistic output that would have taken much longer using traditional methods. Digital content is now created effortlessly, and I’ve fully embraced AI in my daily life, using tools like ChatGPT and MidJourney.

How I Use AI Daily

ChatGPT

ChatGPT has become my go-to for tasks that are simple or tedious—the kind of work I would usually dread. For example, I often use it to extract unique insights from videos and podcasts, which saves me hours of manual transcription and note-taking. There is just too much AI-generated content in the market right now. From automating repetitive processes to researching ideas, it has streamlined much of what I do.

MidJourney

MidJourney, on the other hand, stimulates my creative mind. For instance, I recently used it to design a series of futuristic landscapes for a digital art project. The process not only sparked new ideas but also helped me refine my vision for the final product, which received positive feedback from peers. As humans, our ability to create sets us apart, and it’s fascinating to see AI now capable of generating meaningful art. I’ve always enjoyed creating and sharing my work, and it’s deeply satisfying when people appreciate it. It’s even better when they pay for it.

The Reality of AI: Bias and Fallibility

After extensive use, I’ve realized that AI isn’t perfect. It’s biased and not always accurate. For instance, I once asked an AI tool to summarize an academic article, only to find that it misrepresented the key arguments by oversimplifying complex concepts. This error could have led to significant misunderstandings if I hadn’t cross-checked the original source. Sometimes, it will fabricate answers to provide generic or simpler responses, which can be misleading.

So, why talk about AI? Because people are beginning to trust it too much. This is reminiscent of Google’s early days, when misinformation spread easily through search engine optimization tactics. Whether it’s individuals feeding false data to AI or developers prioritizing efficiency over accuracy, the risks are real.

Can We Trust the Black Box?

Can we trust AI? Yes, but only if we understand how it "thinks," even though much of that process remains undocumented. To better understand its decision-making, I often compare its outputs to external sources or manually verify its claims. Experimenting with different prompts and analyzing how small changes influence the results has also been insightful. These steps allow me to identify patterns in AI behavior and refine my interactions for more reliable outcomes. For example, others might apply these techniques by systematically testing AI outputs against known benchmarks or by using iterative prompting to uncover deeper insights. By adopting a habit of questioning and verifying AI responses, users can ensure that these tools complement their workflows effectively rather than introducing errors or biases. Challenging AI’s responses by rewriting and refining your prompts can often yield better insights.

Trusting AI shouldn’t mean blind faith. It should mean engaging with it critically and thoughtfully, treating it as a tool to amplify human creativity and productivity, not replace it.

Looking Ahead

I strongly believe that AI is not here to replace us, but to serve as a tool to help us achieve more. Higher intellectual humans will find innovative ways to push AI’s boundaries and achieve better outcomes, while others may simply integrate into the system, becoming another gear in the clockwork of progress.

With increased productivity driven by AI, humanity has the potential for unprecedented growth. Just as the internet solved our connectivity problems, artificial intelligence now serves as our ultimate leverage tool. Consider how cars were once viewed as groundbreaking technology but are now simply referred to as transport. Similarly, the internet has transitioned to being called telecommunications infrastructure, and AI will likely follow the same path, becoming an integrated part of what we consider 'tech.' Everyone needs to learn how to use it effectively to unlock its true potential.

As Confucius wisely said, "The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm." This reminds us of the importance of adaptability, especially in a world where AI is reshaping how we work and create.
