What is this?

I started this platform to share thoughts about topics I find fascinating. Writing also gives me intellectual stimulation, so this blog serves as a personal outlet for reflection and exploration. As of now, I’m still deciding on the direction it will take—it’s a work in progress, much like life.

Some History About Hyper88

Hyper88 began in early 2020, during the COVID lockdown. It started with a chance meeting on the internet. At the time, I was working on the investment team of a Web3 venture firm, and Arturo was taking a break after the rollercoaster of the 2018 cycle.

In 2020, we raised our first seven figures when Bitcoin was hovering around $10-15k. Riding that momentum, we dominated in BTC, thanks in part to BitMEX. Then the Federal Reserve began printing money, and liquidity flowed into Bitcoin, fueling some insane market pumps. Our Binance trading volumes skyrocketed, and fees alone hit seven figures.

As Bitcoin climbed to the $60-70k range, our yearly performance reached 30-40x multiples. The market’s volatility revealed both incredible opportunities and red flags. We witnessed the frenzy around Luna’s 30% yield and made the call to convert everything into stablecoins. That decision proved to be pivotal.

Not long after, the FTX collapse sent shockwaves through the industry. We were fortunate to have exited the market beforehand, but many others weren’t as lucky.

We returned all the LP capital, took our cut, and continued running Hyper88. Today, Hyper88 operates as a highly directional, degenerate trading firm.

This is just the start of my blogging journey in 2025. Let’s see where this goes.
